An Imperial Merchant Navy Sloop that did the runs North from Ilmaria to Vadras in the East. It was a good run and took me away from my my nation of birth for the first time in my life. The fifteen men who ran it became my new family. We ran cargo for the Merchant Navy and took Ilmarian ale across the coast to Vadras with a return run of Vadrassian Silk from the Free Cities of Vadras, It was profitable and I earned a good toll of coin.
When I started it was as a simple deck hand and when I left I was a Mate, I had a calling as a carpenter and that skill would help me now I was off-ship. I could very well continue on a ship, or even on the Boxer, but I felt it was my time to leave. Twenty Five and now free, I had enough coin to get a small apartment just off the docks; not a pretty place but an affordable one and one that would be mine and mine
alone.
I got a job in one of the shipwrights on the docks and began work as a carpenter for them; building the next line of ships for the Navy.
